What's The Official Language of Somalia??

We all know that the official language in Somalia is (Somali). And there's no any other langauge which people communicate in Somalia.

 

Wikipedia's saying Somalia official languages are Somali and Arabic!

 

Where this Arabic came from?? Who speaks arabic in Somalia??

 

We are muslims maashaa allah, we do read quran and hatiths, but reading and knowing your Islamic writings doesn't make an official language!

Wadani many Somalis speak Arabic its taught in schools in quranic schools in universities, Arabic is even understood by all Somalis. but only 3 quarters are fluently in Arabic.Thats why Arabic is introduced also as the language of Somalia.

Lol why are you so zealous over anything Arabic. We all know that the average Somali can't speak Arabic markaas aad ka hadli 3/4 fluent. Arabic for Somali people is wax la barto maaha wax la yaqaan.

Let's just hope this nonsense will end (Arabic being an official language) and Somalia leaves the Arab League.

 

So far the Arab League has delivered only one (1) Million US dollars for the African Union Mission in Somalia and zero dollars for the Somali Transitional Federal Government. Compare this disparity with the money provided by Arab League to rebuilding Gaza in Palestine for the recent Israeli devastation. Saudi Arabia provided one (1) Billion US dollars, Qatar $250 million and Algeria $100 million in addition to more than 7.5 Billion Euros pledged for Palestine by the members of the Arab League and European Union countries. The Arab League provided ten times more relief and donation to Sri Lankan Tamil a Buddhist nation with no connections to the Arab League than Somalia. The inaction of the Arab League and member countries is shocking when it comes to Somalia a member country that the League can have a positive effect with very little financial support and political support. Somalia has done its share to assist the mission of the Arab League over decades. It is high time for the Arab League to do some soul searching and re-evaluate its conduct and absence in the Somali conflict or is it Somalis are too dark to be a member of this exclusive club?

The more languages the merrier, people on this forum can't see the benefits - they understand/speak English so that's their ticket to the world as for people in Somalia? Arabic is.

 

Arabic provides them with news, sports, entertainment etc. Somalia is not ready to provide these services in Somali. You want to learn how to use Photoshop? Arabic tutorials. You want to read Harry Potter? Arabic version.

 

And don't say why don't we teach them English because we can't. Let's face it, we're a third world country.

 

I'd say about 70% of Somalis understand Arabic but might not be able to reply in it.

 

I wish everyone understood and could fluently speak Arabic because - that would HELP the economy and the average Somali family. You're dad was a Somali lawyer, speaking in Somali? guess what he's a REFUGEE now, That doesn't know anything.

 

Just look at the Iraqis their whole middle/upper class managed to flee to Jordan, UAE, Saudi Arabia etc. and continue their work, as for Somalis, they couldn't.

 

Somalia is part of the Arab world and will always stay. Don't look at how much money they gave us, get rid of that gypsie mentality that people owe you something. DO something for a living. What a shameless individual, angry that they didn't give him any money.

Arabic language is a rich language and it will be more used in the Somali peninsula in the next coming decades.
