Saving Somaliland from Somalia and its Greater Expansion dreams

I feel the Somalis from Somalia are very hypocritical, selfish, corrupted and very deceptive. They teach from birth that Ethiopia is the enemy of Somalis. In their heads there are two great evils; Satan (Shaydan/Shaitan) and Amhaaro (Somalis always referred Ethiopia to as Amhara state).

 

This understanding goes back to many years but amazingly the Somalis of Somalia never fought with Ethiopia pre-1963 and 1977.

 

The conflict between Christendom Ethiopia and Muslim Somalis has always occurred between Somalis from Somaliland and Ethiopians. For example the Adal Kingdom was in Somaliland. The Somalis of Somalia had no clue about the Adal Kingdom and the wars that were happening between these two people and faiths.

 

Those days had their moments and are long gone. Somaliland has moved on and now fights a common enemy; poverty, diseases, climate change, etc.

 

They only discovered this history in the 1960s and by the time Siad Barre came to power he was teaching everyone false education and history.

 

This hypocritical Somalis of Somalia have open relationship with Kenya, who occupies Somali region the NFD but they won't allow Somaliland to have ties with Ethiopia.

 

There is economic, cultural and political integration between Somalia and Kenya and they (Somalia) does not want the same between Somaliland and Ethiopia.

 

It is time to ignore them and move our regional integration forward.

 

In order to save Somaliland being absorbed by Somalia, we need greater economic, education and even military integration between Somaliland and Ethiopia. For example, Somaliland should temporarily adopt the Ethiopian Birr as its unit of currency. Somalia will never absorb things like that.

 

Somaliland should drop its unrecognized currency and start using Ethiopian Birr which will improve its own economy instead of confusing the market with unofficial currency that doesn't go beyond its borders. This limits the business and economic arm of the country. Adopting Ethiopian currency will send the message to the international community and Mogadishu. If they want to wage war then they have waged war on all Ethiopian Birr users, which has 84 million members.

 

After common currency, Somaliland and Ethiopia need other integrations that are beneficial to each country. It also offers greater prospects for peace and stability and great mechanism against Greater Somalia threat and expansion drives.

 

This Hippocratic nature from Somalia that it is okay for them to have relationship with their neighbour Kenya but not accepting Somaliland and Ethiopian ties has to be tackled before it is too late.

Who wrote this nonsense makes no sense Somalia it self abandoned the greater Somali republic objective and respects the Italian Ethiopian border and the Anglo Italian border between Kenya and Somalia. So there is no Somalia expansion threat to Somaliland. Qofka waxan qoray wa qof aan siyasaada geeska xabad kala socon.
