Somalia can take care of itself, is it too much to ask that we're a non-aligned neutral nation that trades with the rest of the world and generally remains indifferent to issues that don't affect us?

I'm not denying that Somalia needs external help, but to think that we should strive to stay like this is ridiculous.

 

At some point, the parent has to let go and let the child walk on his own. When Somalia does become a stable nation (inshallah), then we should pursue our own foreign-policy with our own interests in mind.

EVERY country in the world is aligned to super power. I don't think people here understand politics. Even strong countries like Turkey, Brazil etc.

You know very well that is a lie, as there are plenty of nations that are nominally "allied" with superpowers, but have largely independent foreign policies.

 

I would say the USA and Canada and Britain are allies, but to claim a nation such as Malaysia, Morocco, or Chile are "allies" with America, just because they have peaceful relations with them---is nonsense

^ LOL, Morocco isn't an ally, I'd say Morocco along with all the other Arab/African nations are slaves/stooges. America says jump, they say how high, the only exceptions could be: Gaddafi, Bashar Assad (because he's with Russia/China), Saddam Hussein etc.

 

Countries that don't align themselves with no one will get swallowed up by one of the blocks, like Sudan, Omar al-Bashir used to be an enemy but the West pressured him so much that he gave in. Same thing would have happened with Iran but they have major back up from the Russians/Chinese.
