He rather ask forgiveness to those girls ( assuming he was like me at his younger days) he either broke their hearts or disappointed in bed than asking forgiveness to a SNM rebel leader, just an insight to the good professors "hiil qaran" ideology.

On Professor Samatar, if I were him I would meet the old man and have a talk--he is the leader of mother region. Jacaylbaro's repent nonsense notwithstanding, teh good Professor shares a region, not ideology with Siilaanyo, and them having a cup of coffee at DC Hotel would be prudent and wise

I think he is calling for an honest dialogue between the North and "the South", I don't think he has given up on the union. That's my understanding from his recent speeches but time will tell.
