God this is a no brainer. If anyone thinks Somaliland is the same population size as Puntland then you are either dreaming or on crack. If that was the case then firstly you would see some political muscle from Somaliland like Puntland flexes. Secondly the census covers both urban and rural nomads. Everyone knows 20% of somalis are settled so even if hargeisa is bigger then bosaso(which its not today) then that accounts for only 20% of somalis and not the 80% in the desert. So in other words if All my nomads settle and ur nomad settle your hargeisa and burco combined wouldnt account for Galkayo iskaba daa Bosaso.

 

Quite simply put boys.The population of Somalia is decided in the desert not city. Anyone with a brain knows this. The use of Satellite imagery isn't even that reliable because London looks small compared to Rio Di Janeiro on google earth but london is 8 million while rio is 6 million. London looks smaller on satellite because of something called density.But to be quite honest I am not concerned about cities but the desert because thats were it all ends when head counts happen.

Puntland Population is between 5-6 Million. Somaliland is 2-3 Million.When the census comes out you will see. All I know is Somaliland is going to be half that of Puntland as my father would alway says hal jilib oo kamid ah beesheena bay la'eg yihin
