I won't bet on the arrival of these delegates just yet, its early for the formation if Jubbaland Xiinow. I still think Hassan Culusow has some Gedo folks in his pocket. Markeey kuligood Axmed Diiriye kasoo madaxbanaanadaan ayaan arkayna balse wali qayb ayaa xamar looga heesaaya.

 

However, I agree with you this news disappoints the secessionists the most. They were looking forward to the Gedo-folks saying null and void iyo D-block is dagaala oo isku baaba'a.

The Gedo folks by overwhelming majority share the objective of Jubbland state for good governance, economic and security reasons. The problem for them has primarily been that the formation of the state coincided with the rise of one of theirs to the top national leadership. Their wish that their man should be honored to lead this initiative conflicted with the process that has already been undertaking in Kismayo.

 

The thing is some misread Gedo's objections and thought they have a willing partner in their mischievous agenda against the Jubba community ---you know I am talking here about our good brothers in the caliber of Abwaans

The Jubbaland obession continues

 

Xiin, there was a suicide bomb in Xamar today killing at least 10 in case you didn't hear. The security situation hasn't improved, AS are still armed and active (they moved into a town yesterday) but but the most important thing to you is Jubbaland.

 

Ps, this still doesn't meet the full requirements under the constitution for it to be a federal state

1) The Jubba initiative is off to a grand start and can no longer be impeded by any entity (including the Fed Gov't )

 

2)We need the support of the Fed Gov for this initiative and are still eagerly awaiting that endorsement

Jubbaland committee requests federal participation

The technical committee for forming an administrative region for Jubbaland has called on the Somali federal government to participate in the state-building process in Kismayo, Somalia's Garowe Online reported Thursday (March 14th).

 

 

"We are asking that the Somali federal government stand by our side and give us support," said participating traditional elder Suldan Sharif Makoma.

 

The Jubbaland state formation process has reached several milestones, according to technical committee director Abdiqani Abdi Jama. The 400 delegates present have agreed on a temporary three-year charter to govern the next administration, he said, indicating that the meetings will continue regardless of whether the federal government becomes involved.

 

Prime Minister Abdi Farah Shirdon said the Kismayo administration's decision to start the Jubbaland conference without the federal government was unconstitutional, adding that only the federal government has the right to establish regional administrations in Somalia.

Mintid Farayare aka Macno Yare presents a pseudo analysis that confuses simple issues. Federal government's involvement is the preference of all involved, not a requirement. however, it is a remarkable political play for Jubbaland organizers to repeat this line for both internal and external consumption.

 

Nairobi agreement has resolved a lot of issues , including the role of the federal government, Gedo folks choices with respect to the new federal structure in the south, and the Celwaq troops that recently arrived at Kismayo. Those issues are all resolved as feeds tell me. Once the Kismayo top leadership comes back to Kismayo, there will be a press conference ---there is a possibility top federal leaders may even be there ...D
