O wise one, are you a fat child, my son? :D

Usually people who talk about diets and whatnot, don't like what they see in front of the mirror...ma caalool kuusan baad yeelatey?

Nah, am just teasing sxb. :D

Seriously though, there is nothing wrong with our general Somali diets. Meat, vegetable, legumes, fruits and nuts are the magic ingredients.

One of the worst things I've discovered is that these days we Somalis eat a lot of wheat. We use wheat flour for our canjeelo, malawax, sabaayats, e.tc-- So I've opted instead to revert back to sorghum flour or millet flour which even taste better and are much healthier.

Pastas of all kinds are definitely a big NO for me. Also, cakes, biscuits and sweets are a NO.

So saaxiib, step away from that syrian pastry thingy!

Miskiin. Even my afur at the mosque was much better. The milkshake was so so though.

i heard another shaikh saying its haraam to overeat and indulge in food during the Ramadan. shahrul akl wa shurb was not the intent and spirit of Ramadan but that is what muslims have turned into: feasting and drinking. its about prayers and self denial.
