Odey Posted March 3, 2013 This is a sad case to be honest. As If rear Somaliland did not cause atrocities during the Siyaad Barre Era. Shall we list them here? Dhagaweeyne and Tanzania were instrumental in the massacres in Mudug which by some estimates were a lot higher than the whole of Somaliland. This being just a few of them. Let us not also forget Reer Somaliland made up the largest number in the Military Junta that sat just below Siyaad Barre. Ali Samatr was but one of these guys. Talk about pot calling the kettle black!. If justice is what you want, remember the rest of Somalis also faced similar if not worse fate during those years and you were integral part of the system. A lot of your kin will be in the dock shortly. Open up pandora's box at your own peril. The only reason you are picking on this chap is because his family is not amongst the big Tribes of Somalia or you would have had a huge response by now. I wholeheartedly support the government in their attempt to help General Ali Samatar. Either justice for all, or none!

Saalax Posted March 3, 2013 Odey It is simple. If you have cases against Dhagaweyne and Tanzania you are free to file a lawsuit against them. But the crimes committed by a government official Cali Samatar won't be brushed off.
Odey Posted March 3, 2013 Hand Over Dhagaweyne and Tanzania then start talking of Justice, otherwise I will always support the plight of this former General of Somalia and this is one vote winner as far as I am concerned. It will be hard to overlook the Government's shortcomings, but I will support them when they are right and in this case they are right!.
Saalax Posted March 3, 2013 Why don't you hand over Morgan, Maslah Siad Bare etc? Mr "Hand over" We are not in the game of Jungle law practices. Cali Samatar was found guilty in an impartial court in the west. The appropriate justice available is to leave it to impartial courts that is until Somalia tried to interfere in the process. Odey Posted March 3, 2013 Maybe we should file a case against Silaanyo for the massacres of the folks in Khaatumo?, we have all seen the tanks crashing poor innocent kids in Kalshaale. Or maybe we can file against Silaanyo for the atrocities he committed against the people of Somalia during his rebel years?. there were plenty of people that were killed in that era because of his dirty war?. hmmm, decisions, decisions I am sure you see where this is Going, oh and it doesn't stop there, the entire current administration can be put on the dock for crimes against humanity in Khaatumo and Awdal. No doubt plenty of takers can be found who will testify(Truthfully mind you) that such atrocities took place. Maybe the rest of Somalis should start fund raising to build such a case in America where they make up the majority, UK, Europe where they also make the Majority. Do you really want to go down this route yaa Saalax?.
