Haatu Posted February 15, 2013 Interesting. From these results we might be able to guesstimate better the population of Somalia as a whole.
Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar Posted February 15, 2013 Every standing house's gate in Xamar -- rebuilt or not -- has those unique numbers and letters, courtesy of Tarsan adminstration. It was said for security purposes and soon, perhaps, canshuurta.
Haatu Posted February 15, 2013 ^^^Very good. I'm surprised they actually numbered the properties. Were the properties numbered before the war?
Jacpher Posted February 15, 2013 Is this reporting from the onion or what?

Alpha Blondy Posted February 15, 2013 this is an interesting development........i hope this census takes place sooner rather than later. they've already started similar efforts in hargeisa and across the country. but i suspect the figures will be over-enumerated. already H-town is estimated to have a population of 850,000 to 1.4million. the guy doing the count for my area had a flashy IPAD-like little gadget. when he asked how many people lived in K27 183, my family owned property, i said 8. of course, that was a little lie. i live alone but the other 7 are in the UK. maybe 20% of the houses in Hargeisa are rented which means population figures will reflected this, too.
