Another poor attempt to inflame the situation further. The State Dept which the Nairobi Embassy is a part of(in case you didn't know) puts out prompt travel warnings to its citizens through the web. The latest travel advisory is dated December 26, 2012 (http://www.travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/tw/tw_5849.html). It covers the whole area of the former Somalia. Whenever a new travel advisory is issued, it's promptly posted on the official website, given that U.S. citizens are not aimlessly hanging around the walls of the Embassy waiting to hear the latest directive on loudspeakers

Tomorrow, I could be proven wrong if a new travel warning is posted verifying this story, but for now, let's just consider it another attempt to inflame the Somaliland 'angst' over the British travel warning

Republic of Somaliland is very peaceful and stable, why is the US now warning against visiting the country? This seems part of a coordinated attack against its nationhood.

Did you intentionally leave out the first sentence lol?

What is behind these warnings though, they are bizarre, and none of the governments have shed insight into what triggered them.

These warnings by the U.S and U.K govts were

triggered by Godane's return to the warm embrace of his mother's bosom in Somaliland, which was expected anyway, because it was only going to be a matter of time before we saw the chickens come home to roost after Godane's defeat in the south of the country.

 

Moving forward, I believe Godane's return home will cause instability in the north because the west will compel Silaanyo to act against his beloved terrorist proxy which he's been using all these years to destabilize the south.

Two governments with robust intelligence services have sounded the alarm regarding this. At this point, I will consider the threat credible.

 

The only thing that doesn't make sense is why put the warning on the OSAC website, yet not update the official consular/state.gov website?

I'm starting to think that this advisory is less politically motivated and more based on credible threats as well. We all know AS is on the run and trying to regroup, the question is where and the hinter regions/borderlands between SL and PL may seem likely. Soomaliland is going down quickly. Siilaanyo is parnoid, he is too old to change. did you see the movie " back to the

future?, this man is almost eighty what do you expect, We in Awdal had a beef with him before but it could not

get worse. you remember Siilaanyo saying that one of the major reason for his struggle was " dadkayagii baa dhulkoodii

lagu maamulayaa". they always talk about some body coming from gedo or kismaayo ruling over Hargeisa. we all know

Somalia was ruled by military dictatorship that rules by decree. here today in 2013 we have this man appoint to Awal a

governor from Burco who is Siilaanyos cousin. to add insult to injury he appoints the police chief and the regional

judge. can you imagine these guys are going back to thirty years. The biggest mistake was we accepted a tribal

warlord with blood in his hands as an elected president. The D community never accepted AIdiid as a leader no

matter what, the H community never accepted Abdilahi Yusuf although he was elected. These are the rules. you do

not accommodate A TRIBAL LEADER. , The only way to confront him is a tribal way. if you think you can stop him

through an institution you are mistaken. he is here to serve his tribe. He want to appoint a governor in today. no way.

We know the end game, these are the last actions of a dying regime. folks I am not tribal but it is the only way to confront

a bully. After twenty years of self rule democratic elections , back to the future. The late Cigaal may Allah bless him said

" please keep out the eastern foxes from the government or their will be the end of the administration". The usual

suspects will say what can you do to confront a bully. We shall do what they did which was get arms and liberate ourselves

from the yolk of tribal rule. they did test us many times before but we chose patience and perseverance. enough is enough.

remove this governor immediately to his home or face the rebellion. can you imagine his audacity to come and rule in our

province. you already have every thing in Hargeisa. police chief, military chief, high court, house of guurty leader, parliament

chief, intelligence head and all the ministries, yet you want to appoint a governor from Burco to rule us in Borama. hell noooo,,,,,,,
