What's the deal with Syria?

Hey folks, I have recently been following the situation in Syria. Yesterday during the Friday khutba the Imam at the local masjid went on a tirade about Assad and the evils of the regime. To be honest I felt uncomfortable with it because while Assad is a bad dude, these FSA guys are no angels. In fact they seem to be a bunch of nuts bent on killing as many Shia's and Christians.

What do you all think of this disaster in Syria?

^^ Politically, we have a lot in common, Libya is gone wild now, no Sky News can report even if 100 people died there, same for any big Western Media, they totally stopped reporting, why, you know the answer.

 

This morning alone, in Bani Walid, where Gadafi supporters are the main controllers there, fierce fighting was going on there outside Bani Walid, where the rebels who were the agents of the West still trying to overthrow Gadafi supporters, not only that city, but a whlole lot of vast land is governed by Gadafi supporters of the green soldiers.

 

Tripoli is another dead city as well, half of it belongs to Khumsa, Gadafi's son, yes, he is still there leading an army of green soldiers, how many times they reported that he was killed, all turned out to be false, just to make the masses happy, not really!

 

 

About Syria, situation is different, we have Russia and China, as well as Iran, and together a military that cannot be easily defeated even after 2 years of trying hard by rebels and their agents.

Its a difficult one Bashar al asad wants to keep his seat he has opposition people revolting against his rule similar to what happened across the Arab world the only difference is bashar is waging a war against his own people its turning into a real civil war. Islamists the Syrian national coalition supported by the west France UK united states as the sole Representative of the Syrian people. But he conflict also consist of the Islamic militant croup al nusra front mostly Suni Muslims even the kurds are fighting against the government mostly from iraq, the stated department considers these suni groups terrorists. Some say even alqaeda is involved. Russia and china are still firmly behind the Syrian regime and not to forget Iran , iran even send some of its republican guard to protect asad, Hezbollah also supports the Syrian regime. The difference with Syria compared to Libya is that NATO cannot intervene.

Most European countries suffered greatly under totalitarian regimes, with Romania being the most recent example. They all dealt with it on their own, even as many of their governments/monarchies were supported by the governments/monarchies of other nations. If a revolution in Syria can't muster up enough support to overthrow the oppressors, then it's not much of a revolution.

45.000 people lost their lives since the war began in Syria its a shame the asads think Syria is their little Kingdom ruling Syria for more than half a century. The world watching as the conflict is rooted into a geopolitical battle. The US state department and the Europeans there is so little they can do in this troubled region. The situation might escalate further as asad loses more ground to the rebels most people who support President asad are afraid that Syria will turn into a new Iraq where a puppet regime will be installed. But Syria is different various Islamic militants are holding ground in Syria not just the Syrian national coalition.
