Alpha, you need a good fertilizer to make the plants grow large and lush. Have you tried picking up your local dog poo and divide it around your garden. I read its a great method:

and stay close to a dog, so you get a fresh one:

All very dull colours. What happened to the bright, dazzling colours flowers were known for?
