OdaySomali Posted December 5, 2012 Am I right in saying that percentile score shows where a person's score falls within the total population of those who took the test? i.e. a percentile score of 87% means that the persons' score is ≥87% of the total population (i.e. all those who took the test)? Mahadsanid in advance.

Haatu Posted December 5, 2012 Wouldn't it mean, if you divided the sample into 100, the person's score falls in the 87th section?
Taleexi Posted December 5, 2012 Haatu, Call it a sample, population or whatever other body of representative population you consider or observe. When you say 87th section, I'm assuming that I and others are saying 87th percentile. In another words, we are calling the same thing on different names.
