peasant Posted October 30, 2012 Android phones can be locked to a particular carrier and to unlock them you require to get the unlock code from the carrier it is locked to. Some carriers will give you the unlock code as long they can verify you are the person who signed the contracted or bought the phone from them. If it is a phone you bought from someone else, it is impossible to get the unlock code from the carrier and the likely hood that it is a stolen phone is pretty high. There are some online services that sell the unlock codes of various carriers but you have to be wary because a lot of them are not legit businesses
Jacpher Posted October 30, 2012 ^There are perfectly legic IMIE unlockers out there. You just gotta know who you are dealing with. If someone tried the wrong sim pin multiple times, the phone may be unlocked already but you need the correct SIM PIN. Try the default ones 1111 or 2222 or 0000 or searching for the default sim pin or have someone with att call them up and ask the sim pin. However, if you need imei unlock, you can have someone with att to request att to send you the unlock code for you. Or you can utilize services that provide unlocks for small fee. What type of phone is this? HTC or Samsung?

That is incorrect, all Android phones can be unlocked regardless of the owner or network! Somali philosopher;883503 wrote: if anyone knows how your help will be appreciated It all depends on the make and model of your phone and what you really mean by unlock - SIM unlock or unblock (which is when a particular carrier blocks the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) of the device for any service within that network/country)
Kulmiye Posted October 30, 2012 you could buy the code on ebay.com
rudy-Diiriye Posted October 30, 2012 u dont need to buy any codes....just do a factory reset! u can google that...& should be good to go. Are u using an at&t sim! This is an at&t ...so u should be able to use any at&t or at&t sister companies sims like H20. However, if u wanna switch to t-mobile or its affiliates like simple mobile, u will need a factory unlock process which ccosts about $dollars. go to any phone stores n they should be able to do it. I would recommend to use an at&t sim, since at&t has faster internet and best communication lines.

Dude, AT&T wont give you the unlock code if the phone is reported stolen but of course you can get the code from other shady sources as I have noted.
