ElPunto Posted October 24, 2012 According to the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) and Joint Typhoon Warning Centre (JTWC) an area of convection currently located off the north-eastern coasts of Somalia has a high potential to develop into a Tropical Cyclone by 25 October and bring strong winds and heavy rains (up to 150mm over the next three days) to north-eastern Somalia and Yemen’s Socotra Island. Episodes of flash-flooding and landslides could occurr in these areas in the coming days.
