General Duke Posted October 6, 2012 The creation of Jubaland/Azania is at the final stage. With the help of Amisom, Buale [Political Capital] and Kismayu [Comercial capital] has been cleared of Al Shabaab. The talks of in Nairobi is baring fruits and there seems to be a clear power sharing agreement between the major stakeholders of the regions. What is Jubaland? The Jubaland State of Somalia comprises, Gedo, Lower Juba and Middle Juba regions of Somalia. The area is rich with resources and man power and it also has a large Diaspora. The creation of this State will go along away to bringing peace and stability to the country. Who oppose Jubaland’s formation? You have a group of desperate groups and individuals led by some Mogadishu based politicians and centralists who view the creation of this State as a big obstacles to their pursuit of central power. Some oppose it out of clear clan view point worried that the large and powerful clan that inhabits Jigjiga and Garisa will have a foothold in Somali politics. Others are worried that a new Puntland is emerging and having another State dominated by the same community would bring untold misery and suffering to their daydreams and damage their ego. I say its high time that communities organize themselves and develop their regions and thus contributing to the greater good of our nation..
Somalia Posted October 7, 2012 Spoilers are not realising that Jubbaland/Azania is a reality with Buale as the political capital it will hold the governmental organs of the region and Kismayo as the commerial capital. But Afmadow is better suited for capital as Buale is under water most of the time.
Abwaan Posted October 7, 2012 Expect Abdi Hosh, a former Somali businessman to announce his Jubba Land amdnistration soon.... Soomaaliya waa waalatay.
Jacpher Posted October 7, 2012 ^ We should pay back the good Israeli/Kenyan joint efforts to liberate Azania by giving them three states of the country as a security buffer zone.
The Zack Posted October 7, 2012 Duke, well said. Spoilers can't stop this train. Regardless what they say, another Puntland is on the rise!

Kismayu is enough for every Somali to live in. Thus there is no reason that the locals be held hostage to the past and to sub clan nonsense. The Jubaland State of Somalia is the final project togetting Somalia on its feet again..
Raamsade Posted October 7, 2012 As long as the locals are consulted with, those spearheading this Jubbaland entity are actually from the region and the new government in Mogadishu gives Jubbaland its blessings no one will/should be against it. But we know none of that holds true. The locals are side-stepped as evidenced by the 1001 different groups sprining up everywhere all claiming to be "true natives/owners" of Kismaayo. You have foreign government, Kenya, pushing some obscure clan outfits like Ras Kamboni to enforce their Jubbaland agenda against the expressed wishes of the new federal government in Xamar. And finally, just about everyone championing this fictitious entity, Jubbaland, including many here on SOL weren't even born in Jubbooyinka. Why should someone who wasn't born there have more say about the region's future than those who were and live there now?
Haatu Posted October 7, 2012 The major clans of the area have decided to forget about their petty clan differences and have started to work together. That is something everyone should commend. And like all the other states, it will of course be answerable to the central government.
Allamagan Posted October 7, 2012 There is nothing called Azania, Thats a foreign name, forget it! The most appropriate name for the region we all want is Jubaland simple and easy and its capital city has to be decided by its all citizens not a certain group. Clan outfit aka the Ras Kamboni militia should be integrated into the somali troops they pose instability and risks in the region. For they are seen as a clan outfit. How can they be different from that of Dooxadda Jubba? Caqligu ha taliyo
The Zack Posted October 7, 2012 ^Azania, actually, is to your advantage. If your folks don't stop opposing the state, you can easily get counted out. Gedo can sta by itself, if it wants.
oba hiloowlow Posted October 7, 2012 why can't the name of the state only be Jubba, Maamulgoboledka Jubba, naga daaya Azania and jubbaland
The Zack Posted October 7, 2012 Your opinion matters not in this case. Whatever name the majority chooses will be the name. If its Qudhacland, so be it.
