Dr_Osman Posted October 6, 2012 Turkish development agency to open Puntland office October 02, 2012 Puntland regional President Abdirahman Mohamed Farole met with representatives of the Turkish International Co-operation and Development Agency (TIKA) in Garowe on Monday (October 1st) to discuss the construction of airports, inter-city roads and health and education centres, according to Puntland administration spokesperson Ahmed Omar Hirsi. "The delegation announced they will open an office in Puntland and will be back next month to fulfil their promises quickly. I expect these programmes will change a lot about social services," Hirsi told Sabahi. This is the second time TIKA representatives have visited Puntland this year. They visited the port of Bosaso, camps for internally displaced people, Qardo jail and health centres. They also plan to visit Galkayo to assess sectors that need assistance, Hirsi said. TIKA has been engaged in numerous aid activities in East Africa, including repairing roads in Mogadishu and donating food to Djibouti.
