Mooge Posted September 29, 2012 Al Shabaab has lost two key regional commanders in Saturday morning raids by Kenya Defence Forces airtsrikes in Kismayu, Somalia. The commanders, Sheikhs Hassan Yakub and Abdikarim Adow were killed a day after KDF alongside Amisom took control of Al Shabaab stronghold and headquarters of Kismayu in Somalia. “Al Shabaab loses two key regional commanders: Sheikhs Hassan Yakub and Abdikarim Adow killed in late morning raids by KDF airstrikes”, read KDF tweet Five militants were also killed in the Kismayu night attacks by KDF and SNA and a lorry and an assortment of weapons recovered. Kenya military spokesman Colonel Cyrus Oguna said Kismayu fell at 2am Friday after a fierce battle with the terror militants. The troops are urging the residents of the port to avoid areas under their control to avoid any form of collateral damage.
