Libaax-Sankataabte Posted September 23, 2012 Minister Asha Gelle, a limitless servant of the Somali people, was recently sacked by President Faroole for reasons unknown to the public. Street speculation is that she was vocal about her support for Dr. Abdiweli against the wishes of President Faroole who did not want to see Dr. Abdiweli become Prime Minster again. President Xasan recently said that he inherited empty national coffers from the previous team. In contrast, Asha Gelle leaves behind a functioning ministry with 1 million dollars in its account. If every so-called minister out there did something remotely close to what Asha Gelle did over the years, our country would get up on its feet much sooner. Today, I salute Asha Gelle! General Duke Posted September 23, 2012 It's remarkable that she left $1million while the Sharif Ahmed left $0.
Somalia Posted September 23, 2012 Her announcement in the media that she left $1 million was sort of a jab I think, meaning the funds now can't be used unbeknown to the public while a transition is taking place.

Blessed Posted September 24, 2012 ^I guess that's why they don't want women in Somali politics. Less musuqmaasaq opportunity. Good on you, Asha.
