Mooge Posted August 27, 2012 sometimes little things matter. Leaders have to lead. that is why they were elected. "today I am playing soccer here at our lovely beach. I want to show the world that our beaches are save. i want the kids to come out and play here now that we kicked alshabaab out. I want to change the psyche of our people. Shabab beat us in the past in the propaganda because our kids were not given better options. This will not happen anymore. Please come out and play at our beaches" - Prime Minister Abdiweli The day Abdiweli said that, it was the turning point. It was really the turning point. That very day will be remembered by the people of Mogaidhu for years to come. Mooge Posted August 27, 2012 If we enjoy this stability for another year or two, I think you will see a great change in Mogadishu. - Mayor of Mogadishu, Tarzan
Mooge Posted August 27, 2012 No matter who wins these coming elections, Mogadishu has turned a page. The come back of Mogadishu is here. Our capital is moving forward.
Odey Posted August 27, 2012 One has to admit Abdiweli has changed Somaliya for The better. I was here when Shabaab was still fighting in the heart of the city and have been watching with great satisfaction the changes taking place the past 12 months. For that and for that alone Abdiweli has my vote!. I pray whoever comes next actually takes things forward and not backward. It is a time of great worry for me because we are at a crossroads and we could end up loosing all the success we have seen the past year if we are not careful. Abwaan Posted August 27, 2012 No one can deny that the man who has been the president of Somalia since 2009, Sharif Sh. Ahmed along with his PMs, ministers and other government employees achieved a lot and Mogadishu now enjoys peace. I wish him a joyful retirement and he will surely be in the positive side of Somalia's history. If he comes back as a president I don't have a problem with him and will want people to work with him.
