SomeAlien Posted October 20, 2003 i was watching a documentary yesterday about muslims and jihad and what is the true meaning of it. (it was pretty pointless but i liked the interviews) anyways the filmaker asked this woman:"men get 72 virgin brides, wine and so on what do women get?" and she answered "i get to sit beside my husband and have the women serve me as well" and i thought that was sweet, but it was also an insufficient answer. for one thing galos are always pre- occupied about the 72 virgins part, they like to think of muslim men as sex crazed and abusive, i wish shed of told her off. also, according to me, and this is my personal opinion, and if i am wrong im sure i dont have to tell you to point it out, i think the description of the quran is only incentive to get there. i think heaven is even greater. im not saying that if you live by the quran, and are truly pinning for that harem that you wont get it, i dont see why allah would not bless you accordingly to the quran, im just saying its incentive because everything described inside the quran regarding jenna is earthly, earthbound. all of the hardships you endure here on earth, all the things you abstain from and fast for, are described to be in heaven and thats incentive for the jihad fighters who may die virgins or away from there wives, or the women who spend their entire lives working for others... you see where im going wiht this? now im not saying what is described wont be found in jenna, im just saying its even better, so much better that you wont have any wants, needs, too beautiful to even imagine. now, im not an expert, im not more equipped to tell you about heaven than the prophet (may peace be upon him), but i truly believe its even greater, partly cause im a woman and 72 vigins never really impressed me, and the other part cause well, like i said earlier everything described is earthly, partly because thats the only way we can understand things. heaven needs to described according to the perspective of human beings, but when we die we're supposed to shed our earthly body and all the hardships included with it, so well, youd have no needs, wants etc. i like that. thats my idea of heaven. when youre stripped of all the ugliness attached to human life and you just exist in a state of never ending blissfulness. to some, maybe that includes 72 brides at youre beck and call, and if you deserve it by all means enjoy it. its really not my decision to make. but heaven is much more than that. thank you for youre time, i hope i didnt offend you. 9 days til ramadaan, peace. Modesty Posted October 21, 2003 If a muslim man(ummarried) dies in jihad-fighting for the cause of Islam, we will be granted the highest level of Jannah, and he will get I don't know the number(70?) horains(sp?), who become virgins everytime, and are so beautiful and bright as the sun. However, if married man who dies in Jihad, when is former wife dies(if she is granted heaven)she will be with her husband, and she will be even more beautiful than the 70(?) horains combined to live in eternal bliss. Ahhhh, may jannah be our final home!

SomeAlien Posted October 21, 2003 i always thought the number was 14, but in the documentary the interviewer said 72, and the woman didnt correct her so i figured it was the correct number. all i know for sure is that its a harem of virginal brides. ill do some real research i guess. i know i read it somewhere but it was a while ago, so when they mentioned it, it rung a bell, but i htink sister modesty got it down more specifically. ill get back to you though. and rudy, are you implying im going to hell? BOOOO! thumbs down man.
