GaraadMon Posted August 19, 2012 Good work! Hopefully we'll utilize greenhouses in the future as the extremely high evapo-transpiration rates and lack of canopy in northern Somalia will limit photosynthesis productivity in plants. I like to use Israel as a benchmark for agriculture has their landscape is similar to ours. They have devised new forms of drip irrigation and soil management to become a large scale food exporter. Imagine what we could do with the amount of arable land at our disposal.

Lets hope this sets an example for other somalis that if Puntland can built one of somalia's largest city from basically a village and also make the most driest land in somalia green where starvation is unknown, then what is stopping other somalis from doing the same? Waa sucaal wayn ku aadan beelaha somaliyeed. Plus u have to remember the amount of investments we have in mogadishu is basically right at the top of the somali clans. Once that is returned you can imagine that at least 80% of puntlanders will just sell the property and invest back into Puntland.
