Our legend Yeey had to resign because he wouldn't go along with a few things including allowing opposition to join the government, so he was effectively resigned as the international community wouldn't support him. That is the official story but there are other things including the integrity of Somalia that was at play which would have gone differently if he chose to stay on in exchange for more support. And politics with Ethiopia.

 

Anyway, Sheikh Shariif has now ironically faced an even worse fate given that he did the things Yusuf did not want to do.

lets not lie about the dead. cadilahi was told to accept new upcoming process with expanded parliament and he refused. he sacked nuur cade who planned the fake expansion with walad cabdala. in the end west would not accept the sacking and his new prime minister gacmodheere. since he could not stop walad abdalla process he shocked them and left. he did not think 500 MPs is what country needed and he knew Walad cabala wanted to try islamists next eiund election. they would have liked him to participate djibouti election but he said screw you.

 

there were other disagreements as to whre country should go.

Mooge you are missing the point, the international community wouldn't support him against what you mentioned, that means effectively resign because you have no backing in Mogadishu both financially and politically, and when Sheikh Shariif came, he doubled the parliament and played along with the status quo which was one of the biggest factors.

 

So he resigned instead of staying on, but if he did a few other things that even Shariif agreed on, he could have finished his term and gotten more support from them.
