Somalia Posted July 25, 2012 Hargeisa (Alshahid)-Al-Islah Islamic Movement in Somalia dismissed Dr Ali Bash Omar, a top official and also suspended Dr Ali Sheikh Abukar who was former chairman of the movement and the current chancellor of Mogadishu university, according to a press release from Al-Islah. The movement’s top leadership on Monday met in Hargeisa and accused the two men of mismanagement, misuse of power and resources and secret relationship with unidentified foreign powers. The move comes as the two men in question are busy campaigning for Somalia Presidential candidate Dr Abdirahman Badiyow who is also an official in Al-Islah movement. Dr Badiyow’s candidature created a heated debate among the circles of the movement. Many believe that Dr Badiyow is using the movement’s funds for his campaign which casts a bad image of him and his political vision.
