Macallinka Posted July 21, 2012 Wow that is some serious stuff, how lame are thy to use such easy passwords etc. If they want to trade online they need to invest on the infrastructure on their network .

Tallaabo Posted July 21, 2012 The hackers also revealed how Dahabshiil agents in the Arab countries of the middle East watch hardcore porn on the company's computers. I thought Dahabshiil as a growing company took the protection of its customers' private information seriously, but I guess I was wrong. If any xawaala wants to develop into a fully fletched bank, then they must invest in the security apparatus necessary for such an institution no matter how high the price tag is. Banking and expensive technologies go hand in hand. There are no shortcuts around it.

Last night I was searching whether some Somali politicians horded public money in their personal Dahabshiil accounts. This database is quite handy. Siciid1986 Posted July 21, 2012 official statement from Dahabshiil headquater in Hargeisa. Following our initial investigation into the cyber-attack, we now believe that earlier reports attributing the action to a particular protest group were inaccurate and exaggerated. Our investigation is still ongoing and we are therefore not yet in a position to verify the identity of those individuals behind the incident. Naturally we will keep all customers fully updated. Safeguarding our customers is of paramount importance to Dahabshiil and we will continue to work closely with the relevant authorities to ensure that we identify those responsible. Dahabshiil adheres to all industry standards in keeping confidential the details of its customers’ instructions and their unique transaction references. Furthermore, the company places the highest importance on its compliance procedures and has policies in place which are approved by the relevant authorities, including the FSA in the UK. If customers have any questions, or require any further information, they should contact us on enquiries@dahabshiil.com.
Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar Posted July 22, 2012 So any of those hackers could have sent any amount of dollars to anyone where Dahabshiil has an office and wouldn't have been noticed if they didn't publically publish their hacking data? I mean, some hacker who had access to that central data bank could have just typed, say, $10,000 sent to heblaayo in any magaalo and she could have received without anyone realising beforehand. Whoa. They could do that if they wished but the hacker is not interested in money. They warned customers to withdraw their cash from Dahabshiil within two months before anonymous does it for them!! I am concerned for my mom's hagbad. However, I believe Mr/Ms anonymous is a nomad with political agenda. Very clever guys.

Somalia Posted July 23, 2012 It's a former employee, he even showed it on one of the screenshots, an e-mail with his name, and also the account that it was posted on belonged to him, it's so obvious.
