The president will come from the south. Southern Somalia is still unstable and infested with Al shabab, a president from hopefully will give them incentives to shape up and secure their region.

One is confident about ones position and again only some folk are obsessed with telling me which clan I belong to. It's more than amusing. Again This is my prediction taking into account the various very reliable sources one has gathered.

No doubt Abdi-wali is qualified, but there are others too. He played a critical role in framing post-tfg governance even enduring with some scuffles. However, he wants to assert himself for that coveted position of presidency, this is where he is at par with the two Shariifs. If anything, perhaps he should encourage others to come forward using his clout as a king-maker.

 

What has fuelled Somalia's political impasse has always been clan rivalries and the fear of domination, which altogether caused prolonging the political quagmire and mistrust that exists today. Support of individual for Tolka will not help Somalia get on its feet. What is needed are institution based on like minded people and not the drumbeats for individuals with high accolades.

It seems that your main argument is that Abdiweli with all his education, capability experience and proven success is the wrong candidate because he happens to be the Duke's cousin. Adeer that's your problem and not mine.

 

The main thing here is that Somalia has never had a more capable individual at the helm, and I am confident that he would do a great job as the head of state. Look even the man's wife is a Professor of Economics, a woman who is engaged in Somalia's issue and who champions the rights of our better halves. So unlike any other candidate with Abdiweli Somalia will get a first lady who is more educated than most Somali politicians. So again don't get angry and froth from the mouth that Abdiweli is from a certain clan and so on.

 

He is more qualified, has what it takes and is the favorite thus far.

Abdiweli is a fine technocrat and a talented economist, his educational background and work experience is suited to the job of running this lost nation, building up it's institutions and fostering it's economic development. That's what he studied, taught and practiced.

 

He has experienced in taxation, Somalia needs to rebuild from zero it's public finances.

He has a Masters of Public Adminstration MPA from Harvard. This is relevant to Somalia, throughout our history we have lacked leaders who know how to run a public administration.

 

He is an Economist which I believe is his best strength he understands clearly how he modern worlds financial institution & governing bodies work and how Somalia relates to this.

 

He has also for the last year ran the best cabinet and government in the last 21 years, this is my own opinion. He has been tested and proven to be able to navigate well through Somalia's murky clan centric politics.
