Jamal Ali Hussien - Dear Leader, Intellectual, Cultural Critic and A Close and Personal Friend!

Recommended Posts

And just as Jesus spent 40 days and nights in the wilderness of judean desert, Jamal Ali Hussien had only $40 when he first stepped foot on the promised land, no doubt a feat of biblical proportions. Not only was he born to fulfill a 'great destiny' but the whole country is now looking toward his leadership as the one that brings the elusive recognition and so much more. somaliland, could indeed benefit from his benevolent endeavors and his up-until now, somewhat, of a hyped personality. he brings credence and prudence in equal measure. could jamal be the the messiah and indeed bring 'us' salvation? oh jamal, we look to you to redeem us from our misgivings and lead us to deliverance.

Jamal was born in Hargeisa, his father hails from burao. Jamal grew up in Beletweyn and Baidoa and graduated from SIDAM in Muqdisho. He represents diversity and differences in its full entirety and this is further compounded by his ability to speak 4 different dialects of the Somali language, he speaks Xamaraawi, af Maay Maay, af Waqooyi and af Baraawe. Jamal is us and we are him, indeed.

Jamal is an award winning Somali poet and writer. he's composed more than a dozen songs, scores of film tracks and wrote books in Somali, English and very soon he's adding the final touches to the much anticipated political thriller in Kiswahilli - Haba na haba, hujaza kibaba which means - small things when combined make up big things. further illustrating his belief in the power of the Somali people to create big things, unite and succeed. His English biography is called from Nomad to Harvard, which documents his incredible rags to riches life, its starts with his difficult and poverty-sticken childhood to his eventual and divinely ordained Harvard success. its in the rumour mills that a Hollywood blockbuster with omar epps playing jamal will be made, its already tipped for oscar and bafta success and its not even out. apparently, its also been allegedly that jamal will also produce the score for the movie and will single handedly direct, play himself and edit the movie.

Jamaal was Director of one of biggest banks in Africa, Citi Bank Ivory Coast, under his leadership the country economy grew more then 30% annually, Presidential elections were held, corruption was fought. He received the Best Bank Award of the European, Middle east and African markets, EMEA region while hundred of Banks went Banktrupt worldwide. There is also a statute of Jamal outside of Rue Jean Du Africa bang in the middle of the economic capital.

Former Ivory Coast President Laurent Gbagbo called Jamaal Ali Hussein, an example of the new generation of African leaders, the "Cheetah Generation" who are reashaping the continent. Africa's "cheetahs" are changing their continent by investing seed capital in small businesses such as agricultural programmes, or helping young women to develop small businesses, and social entrepreneurs are bringing their voices to the world stage. These changes and progress deserve more exposure, because they are key to African development. The Cheetah Generation is just what Africa needs now: the combination of the determination of this new generation and the opportunities offered by social networks could form a great alliance that challenges African leaders and builds communities that can take action from a little tweet right to the street.

During his time in Abidjan, the Ivory Coast, Jamal was said to have rescued a small child from the clenches of a local militia. he adopted the child and raised her as his very own and gave her the apt entitled name sheba - queen of the monkeys, perhaps and once again demonstrating his awe-inspiring ability to engage with, transform from within and to build society in all its complexities. he's a man of immense courage and we are very proud of him.

With such an amazing track record, is this young cat or the somali OBAMA too good to be true? can he bring UCID to the helm? is he able to deliver the high expections bestowed upon him? one thing is for sure; we love you and you make us proud.

All of that and more is cancelled out by his writing of that awful awful "comedy" book. :D

I thought this piece itself was a poor attempt at comedy itself: he was a director of a bank in a country and the countries economy grew? Anyway just come here to say I saw dear leader and thought Kim Jong il made it to Somaliland.

^NG, didn't understand half the jokes, so he decides that it must have been bad.

I'm a huge fan of Jamaal. UCID is a big contender now not only do they have a popular leader now but more crucially because Kulmiye and UDUB are doing so badly.

I understood enough to know it's too trivial for a presidential hopeful to write. Most of it was sheeko maqaaxi with no finesse or skill on the part of the writer. What's worse, is he did not allow the jokes to speak for themselves but went on to bloody explain them (so even the parts I didn't understand, were actually explained to me by the author). It was a truly awful book (and I do have a copy of it at home).

The court jester can't be president, ayeeyo. :P

^^ Yes, I think there are a couple. And, no, he didn't write any of them himself. It was a collection of stories that you would hear in any typical Somali maqaaxi. Really, really, really, nothing worth talking about there. I'd recall all copies of that book if I were him.

(I'd use it to make fun of him if I were Kulmiye). :D

of the respondees nn is the outsider. of the rest of 'us' there is an even split and its quite obvious NG, NORF and blessed whose web of deception has been exposed are quite clearly jealous of 'our' jamal. the days of the fox are numbered, the days of kleptocracy are over. 'they' know this themselves; we know this becos of the increase in theft, decadency, carnal abuse of power and civic responsibilities and of course criminality, which is synonymous and is a natural trait of the fox. 'we' shall restore the pendulum back to the centre ground lol and shall reign supreme with jamal at the helm. 'we' raised the flag and are the only 'ones' capable of leadership. cheers.

fascinating political commentary there from the stay at home mom who can easily compete with jamal pound for pound on productivity and outcomes.
