Abwaan-

If someone is corrupt surely they will be exposed in time. However, reading the Hiiraan summary I find it inconsistent with the description both you and Somalia gave with regards to Farmaajo.

Notice, Farmaajo is the only man not implicated individual, in the sense of his person, with corruption. Farmaajo's administration was accused of "mismanagement" of some money from that donated by UAE and the accuser is none other than Abdiwali Mohamed Gaas. In fact the word "alleges" is used. The summary on Farmaajo also says this allegation is not substantiated by the Somali Central Bank and nor could Farmaajo understand why his former Minister of Finance reported a number other than what his government put into the Somali Central Bank.

As of yet, this is not to say Farmaajo is personally cleared of wrongdoing, but this report has only brought the allegation rather than the proof of it as it did with Shareef Hassan, Sheikh Sharif, and Abdiwali who is personally implicated through his own writings and edicts.

Let us try to stick to the facts as they are before us now.

I am speaking directly on the HiiraanOnline summary of the Monitoring Report. It is inconsistent what you and Abwaan have translated from it with regards to Farmaajo.

The entire section on Farmaajo, different from all the other sections, could be summarized into "Allegations made by current PM Abdiwali Mohamed Gaas of which the Somalia Monitoring Group could not verify." Ironically enough the allegation was spoken by Abdiwali as he was defending himself from corruption charges.

All the others have direct paper trail of which actions by their own individual persons is evidence enough. There is nothing from Farmaajo; no deals, no letters, no evidence at all save what the report itself called "allegations" by the current PM. The report also explicitly says it did not reach Farmaajo for comment and nor was the Central Bank be able to be reached.

That's all.

Somalia, Farmaajo would say such thing to prevent any assistance to SSomali goverment halted becouse of a corruption allegation to former officials made public, that's understandable. Also its understandable that PM Abdiwali asks TFG sponsors and lenders to get tax relief at the port but should have been done through a transparent sytem that has controls in place.

The guys who have to lose in big way are Sh Hassan and Sh Ahmed. They being alleged to have used private companies owned by them and individuals that are related to them to misappropriate and extort money. That could damage their presidential campaign.

Alln in all, these are allegations and will need to be substiated before court. I would say the Joint anti corrption comitee should investiate this as a matter of urgency.

I understand that, but to others they will argue that it was his way of hiding discrepancies. Also, Farmaajo was the one who set up the Anti-Corruption Committee, so he should be credited with that.

Wrong PM Omar was credited for establishing the Anti-Corruption Committee:

In 2009, under mounting pressure both form within the TFIs and its

international partners, then TFG PM Omar Abdirashid Sharmarke established a Public

Financial Management Unit (PFMU) under the direct authority of the Prime Minister

and headed by Abdirazak Fartaag, in order to introduce greater accountability and

transparency into the TFG finances.

Farmaajo was actually the one credited for disbanding the PFMU:

In May 2011, allegedly under pressure from members of President Sharif’s

inner circle, including Abdulkarim Jaama, President Sharif’s Chief of Staff, the new

TFG Prime Minister, Mohamed Abdillahi ‘Farmaajo’, disbanded the PFMU.

Wasn't Farmaajo the one who signed the aiport contract with SKA? Then with the help of Sh. Xasan the so-called parliament approved it.

Ok, I just thought he did so as he mentioned in this speech.

This one says Abdiweli established it in January of this year.
