Giancarlo Giannini, a factory worker and father of two, attacked his 26-year-old wife, Alessandra Sorrentino, at their home Monday with a small pair of scissors. He then used a larger pair to stab her in the heart in an apparent fit of jealousy. Police found the woman's body in a pool of blood on the balcony of their apartment in Palma Campania near Naples. Giannini was arrested, and told police his wife had been 'too beautiful'. The couple's two children, aged four and six, were asleep at the time of the killing.
