SoMa_InC Posted June 4, 2008 What a disappointing tournament this will turn to be for me if Italy were to win it.
N.O.R.F Posted June 4, 2008 I'm disappoined Canavarro and Babel are out. I'm also disappointed can't get my hands on the required Al Jazeera Sports card
LayZie G. Posted June 4, 2008 I have easy picks. It comes in the form of A & C letters. In group A, I adore Cristiano Ronaldo, in group C, the dreamy henry. What could u ask for but those two hunks playing for their respective teams? Is it possible for A & C to face each in the finals? Where are the bracket experts, holla. Are my boys playing in this tournament? PS:Ng, I am not a footie fanatic and I know not to make such a pick. Croatia is toast.
Oz Posted June 5, 2008 Spain played friendlies against Usa they did well scoring 1-0 , Xavi went through US defenders like they were standing and scored a fantastic goal. Video
Abtigiis Posted June 5, 2008 Magac dad ku wareeraa jira. Big name syndrome. Canavarro was a liability, already on the diminishing side of the utility curve (as Economists would like to say). He has started resorting to committing fouls and pulling shirts. Signs of an ageing defender. I am sure Italy will be better off. A young player with a lot to prove will come on his place, i guess. A liabilty, yes; just as Rio Ferdinand is for Man U. I wonder what fun it would have been to watch Rio playing for a team that is not on the attack for most of the time. Like Wigan and Aston Villa. Riwaayad buu noqon lahaa. Of course, Babel will be missed.
NGONGE Posted June 5, 2008 Hagi was great for Romania but I always liked this guy better: Lazy, Go back to talking basketball, darling. The balls there are bouncy. As for your question, it is too early to tell really. Here is how it will go after the group stages (work it out for yourself at the time): Winner Group A v Runner-up Group B, Quarter Final 1 Winner Group B v Runner-up Group A, Quarter Final 2 Winner Group C v Runner-up Group D, Quarter Final 3 Winner Group D v Runner-up Group C, Quarter Final 4 Winner Q/F 1 v Winner Q/F 2, SF, Winner Q/F 3 v Winner Q/F 4, SF, Winners SF1 v Winners SF2, F,

Abtigiis Posted June 5, 2008 A & T tips Holland for the cup. Romania to do well, and Portugal and Spain to disappoint. Northerner The player in the pciture is of course Marius Lacatus (the famous number 7). Look at the Holland midfield and attack: Midfield Wesley Sneider Rafaeal Van der Vaart Giovanne Van bronckhorst Three man attack Van pierse Van nisterlrooy Robben I think Van Basten has opeted for 4-3-3 formation. that suits teams that have good wing players (as Holland do) very well. It is 6 while attacking,7 while defending. The full backs must be good, and I think Oolijer is more than reliable. Bouma is the weak on the left. Back, between the posts, is the impregnable Edwin Van der Sar. A penalty specialist, to boot.
N.O.R.F Posted June 5, 2008 Vaart and Van Bronkhorst are cr*p
Abtigiis Posted June 5, 2008 Van Bronkhorst is. Van der vaart isn't. But You need experience and defensive minded players. Too often Holland's total fotball lacked that extra vigilance. As long as Van Bronkhorst can block the flow of pasing of the other team, he is ok. Not my choice, tough.
NGONGE Posted June 5, 2008 ^^^ The way you describe and explain football here makes you look, smell and come across as one of those that argue with the person behind them during games and never get to watch a second of the damn thing.
Abtigiis Posted June 5, 2008 ^^^^ I think I focus on the tactics of the teams more than I enjoy the running and the passing. When I was a player (not too long ago) our coach was loquacious and will go on and on on the merits and limitations of system formations: 4-3-3, 3-5-2, and the ubiquitous 4-4-2. It is the quality of the players you have that has to dictate which system you pick, but unfortunately that Xabshi coach (maqaful as ever, used to play whichever he wanted. By the way, I want to take a formal coaching training and one day become the national coach of Somalia. Insha-allah. I have an eye, I beleive, in picking raw talent. I don't like playes who have reached climax and are coming down.
N.O.R.F Posted June 5, 2008 Is Van Bommbel in the team? They may have a chance if he is.
Oz Posted June 5, 2008 Always wanted Van der vaart to come to Chelsea his really quality, Norf I can't believe you rate him that low and if you haven't seen him play here
