Somaliland President Axmed Siilaanyo meets ssc rebel leader Xaglatoosiye+PICS

Recommended Posts

That u think galaydh would run for vice presidency really shows how out of touch with reality u r.

Xaji if Somaliland truelly wants peace, there are hundreds of things they can do, least of which is talking xaglatoosiye. For example, they could stop attacking buhoodle, they restrain sland clans from attacking rer Khaatumo, they could withdraw from Sool, they can try to engage the actual administration of Khaatumo, so on and so on. Short of that Waa iska jet ruwayed ee see waata

Buhoodle region is pretty peaceful now and and days other than some clans attacking each other around north sool just recently gowsaweyne but that's about it. As for Politicians well lets just say let them play out it out let these politicians play it out.

In 1991, Tuur became the newly-established Somaliland first President, but subsequently
renounced the separatist platform in 1994 and began instead to publicly seek and advocate reconciliation with the rest of Somalia under a power-sharing federal system of governance.
Tuur also lent some support to the UNOSOM peace-building mission in the southern regions, which alienated him from Somaliland's succeeding government as well as many former followers. He was exiled to Ethiopia for almost a decade

Somaliland's first President and the Founder of the secessionist Enclave Cabdiraxman Axmed Cali Tuur
abandoned the secessionist project and turned to the Somalia
, where he joined Maxamed Farax Caydiid in Mogadishu.

The faction of Tuur teetered, as conflicts over revenue erupted between secessionist elites and the ill-disciplined clan militias that supported them.

Frustrated and marginalized, Tuur soon faded from the scene, retreating into self-imposed exile in southern Somalia.

Tuur's rejection of an independent Somaliland was an unpopular move that in the long term weakened his support in his own clan.
In any case, by this time Tuur had relocated to Mogadishu in the south, and was unable to effectively mobilize his constituents from hundreds of kilometers away.

Khaatumo State Of Somalia is going through the same evolution as other Regions of Somalia (Somaliland 1993, Puntland 2001, Galmudug, etc). If XaglaToosiye leaves SSC/Khaatumo, he will lose all the support and will be marginalized . XT will be like Tuur and Xaabsade.

If Siilaanyo is really serious about the Peace, he should stop attacks on Buhoodle and other Khaatumo towns, he should remove all Somaliland militia from Khaatumoland, and talk to the current Leadership of KHaatumo State, traditional leaders and elders, and Khaatumo People in general.

Shacabka Soomaaliya sida Woqooyi Galbeed Iyo Khaatumo waa dad walaalo oo wax badan wadaaga. Waxa loo bahanyahay waa nabad sidii loogu wada noolan lahaa.

But Liibaan Haabsade never supported ssc or Khaatumo he was a former Somaliland parliament speaker than the interior Minister of Puntland than back to Somaliland as the information Minister.

As for Abdiraxmaan tuur late Somaliland President aun he was a unionist and every one knew initially SNM started as a unionist rebel movement so he is not really to blame. He was the last SNM chairman and both him and caydid wanted to honor the pact they signed in 1989.

^ I agree. Siilaanyo should make concrete steps to show that he's serious about peace.

His past record is hunting him down.

Currently, Xaglatoosiye has neither political mandate nor power base thus, his political dealings will not alter anything in the ground. Think of in similar terms the SL unionists of your clan.
