Leezu Posted June 24, 2012 Is this what the genocide has caused? Or is this caused by some Oromo invasion into our region? Because I dont understand these changes on the Soomaali Galbeed borders by the Ethiopian government. Will our borders go inwards more in the future? Our region; The Somali region of Ethiopia is almost penetrated by the Oromo region thus almost leaving it in two and about to touch the north-western border of Somalia... Half of the small town of Gursum used to be 98% Somali and part of Somali region while the other half was even 16% Somali even though it was part of the Oromo region. Are the Oromos slowly taking over our region? What will the consequences be if it is completely penetrated and made into two parts? Heres the link, watch where Jijiga is, the region has been pierced by the Oromo region east of the city of Harar. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Somali_in_Ethiopia.svg
Xaaji Xunjuf Posted June 24, 2012 Oromos are a big danger to Somalis in Somaligalbeed i have said it before they are the real danger Somalis are facing in Somali galbeed. Somalis need to defend their territory from these invaders.
Leezu Posted June 24, 2012 Yes, they are one of our biggest problems, just like the Jareers they are invading our territory. But this problem is easier and can be solved easily as the area is poorly populated and can easily be repopulated and also there are a lot of so called "Oromos" that are actually Somalis with lost identity. Oromo is only a language, not an ethnicity anymore like the Somali. Very similar to Arabic and the so called "Arabs". The Oromos have also invaded Afar areas. The Oromos and Afars are our brothers because of being part of the same linguistic family and race and also because of the very similar culture and Islam. They should focus on invading Amhara territory instead of their brothers, Addis Ababa especially if they ever want it back and ever want to get independence. If they were more organized like the ONLF they could easily turn Ethiopia around by invading Addis Ababa that is surrounded by their territory... Somalis need to defend their territory from these invaders. Biggest danger to Somalis are Somalis themselves, hate, envy, and selfishness are what is destroying Somalis in Somali galbeed or Somalia proper, once we are united Oromos or others can not penetrate us. But while we are eating each other Somali galbeed will be lost slowly and NFD is already seeing a population shift where big cities like Garissa is becoming more of a Kikuyu city. Just look at Diri Dawa of Somali Galbeed where the Somali ethnics are only 24.3% contrary to 20 years ago where they were the majority. Demographics Based on the 2007 Census conducted by the Central Statistical Agency of Ethiopia (CSA), Dire Dawa has a total population of 341,834, of whom 171,461 are men and 170,461 women; 233,224 or 68.23% of the population are urban inhabitants. For all of Dire Dawa 76,815 households were counted living in 72,937 housing units, which results in an average of 4.5 persons to a household, with urban households having on average 4.2 and rural households 4.9 people. Ethnic groups in the region include the Oromo (45.9%), Somali (24.3%), Amhara (20.17%), Gurage (4.55%), Tigray (1.23%), and Harari (1.09%). Languages spoke include Oromiffa (47.95%), Amharic (26.46%), Somali (19.7%), Gurage (2.78%), and Harari (1.04%). The religion with the most believers in Dire Dawa is Muslim with 70.8%, 25.71% are Ethiopian Orthodox, 2.81% Protestant, and 0.43% Catholic.[13] Wikipedia.org

Yes they are are a threat but not in a violent way, they are just making more babies while you, I and Xaaji are arguing about petty things. Go and get a wife, a second one, third and forth one and make babies day and night, that is the best way to be a Somali patriot these days.
Abtigiis Posted June 24, 2012 The lands given to Oromoia belong to the Oromos! We those who know about Babile, Gursum etc know this! For once, let us be fair!
The-freeman Posted June 24, 2012 Didn't all those lands used to belong to the Oromos initially before the Somalis moved in and claimed squatters rights?

Oromos have expansionist agenda as for TPLF policies, the TPLF have no interest of taking Somali territories but their problem is they subjugate Somalis and torture and Kill them, so its not Tigray its the TPLF. But oromos want to take over territory heaven forbid an oromo sitting in addis ababa as the leader of Ethiopia. TPLF is busy land grabbing Amhaaras but oromos want to take over Somali territory. Raamsade Posted June 25, 2012 The map is not entirely accurate because I know in the Libaan zone Somalis are actually way beyond the Somali region border and deep in traditional Oromo territory.
Abtigiis Posted June 25, 2012 Somalis are the expansionist in truth. Oromo and Afar lands are shrinking! I can give examples for those who know the subject geography.
