Somalia, Somaliland start talks in London with out involvement of Puntland

Talks between Somalia and Somaliland have started in London later today after both sides agreed to send their repetitives to London to reach deal about the future of both sides.

 

Somaliland which claims two controversial regions in Somalia wants to get its full independence from South Somalia after 21 years that Somaliland lacked an international recognition.

 

Recently Somali president Sharif Shekh Ahmed announced group of Somalia representatives while Somaliland’s representatives have already reached London.

 

The result of Talks are hardly to anticipate while both parts are holding tight with their points. Somaliland seems not show any compromise to be a part of Somaliland in the future while Somalia also tries to persuade Somaliland to join them.

 

What so ever it is the first time since 21 years Somalia and Somaliland to have such high standard meeting.

 

UK , a former Somaliland colony and a broker of this mediation wants to see both parts agreed at some levels.

 

Meanwhile Somaliland claims two controversial regions in which Puntland itself administers , but there is no representative for Puntland in the conference. Puntlandi learns that Puntland government is still silent about the conference and this may seem that they respect Somalia for the decisions of the conference..

 

Early, president of Somalia announced a committee of 7 members including two Puntland representatives, but Somaliland have fiercely denounced this and threatened to withdraw the conference, but later president made the committee 5 members and excluded two Puntland representatives.

Carafaat Sh sharif and Siilaanyo agreed to this 3 weeks ago and the next talks will be between the two Presidents Siilaanyo and Sharif in the UAE.
