Tilamook the Somali republic is not what it was in 1960 when the union was established this is 2012 a solution must be reached status quo is not beneficial for Somalia nor is it beneficial for Somaliland.

You are right, Somalia as a whole-- including your neck of the woods-- needs a lasting solution to ALL our problems. We need national reconciliation for ALL the clans of Somalia, and the only way to achieve that is for a well functioning government to facilitate that throughout the country-- from Saylac to Ras Kamboni.

Ofcourse they need a real government and the politicians in Somalia are working on that but its a political process bit by bit its developing. In the mean time they open talks with Somaliland that will take months till a solution is reached. But it will not undermine Somalia's political process since the international community gave it full legitimacy. See che the leaders in Somaliland know that they have been saying there is no government in Somalia who should we talk two? still some elites in Somaliland keep saying that. But the international community made it clear and said hey we got them now here they are they are the legitimate government of Somalia her name is the TFG and we will support you're dialogue.

yes but frankly I don't see any chance of reconstituting somalia,and as far as almost the great majority is concerned they be separate.So r you prepared to have brotherly relations or you going to war?

I remember in 1999 President Cigaal was planning to create a government for Somalia that he could deal with but his ambitions were stopped by the elders guurti members upper parliament of Somaliland. At that time warlords were roaming in Mogadishu the international community wasn't that involved with Somalia there were no islamists in Somalia or pirates.At that time people were still saying we will not talk to warlords let them create a real government and than we will take them serious The international community has prioritised in favour of Somalia's peace for the past 21 years they are commited to ensuring at the very least to contain the problem that is Somalia. But the problems are slowely fading away. With talks we can create a whole new chapter between Somaliland and Somalia its a golden opportunity to solve Somalia's problems and Somalilands problems.

If he was reacting on somebody calling for war against Somaliland, one could understand if he would call for selfdefense. But as far as I know, nobody in his right mind has called for a war against Somaliland. Atleast not in the recent years. Somalia´s issue with Somaliland is a political and legal issue. And thank Allah, that our current leaders understand that and have started talking this week. Warancade, Edna Aden, Faisal Ali Waraabe, Ahmed Yusuf Yaasin, etc are some of the many relics, who have dominated Somaliland politics since 90´s.

He and his party believe the TFG are not serious about these talks and following orders given by their handlers to attend while buying time. That's UDUB party attitude generally regarding Somalia-Somaliland talks. *If you bothered to read the article, he gives PM Abdiweli Gaas' comments as example of lack of sincerity on TFG Somalia's part. Remember , Udub folks are mainly the relics of those who stayed loyal to the Siyad regime to the last minute. These folks seem to know "mininka mininkaa waaye" attitude more than other Landers, so maybe they know something. Seriously, apart from Juxa, who else of those commented against Waran Cadde in here do you trust. Look at pirate Moonlight preaching peace. Look at Shabaabi-CIA Che pretending to be a pacifist? C'on now!
