Which One Do U Think Is Worst: Racism or Tribalism!

I think tribalism is the worst thing any human can face! When your own kind discriminates u because of lineage issue, then your world crumples. What do u think..........Plz share your thoughts. thnx

Racism is Tribalism and Tribalism is Racism, but the question is who conceived who. The chicken or the egg.

Rasicm is much worse because its predicated not only upon blind hatred but also a belief in the inherent superiority of one group over another. Somali tribalism on the other hand is based on hatred and mistrust dating to age old feuds caused by competition over scarce resources, but for the most part there is an egalitarian ethos which permeates our nomadic culture, making the tribes relatively equal in status. That is why the snm clan and the khatumo clan for example will intermarry extensively despite the current and historic animosity between them, since they each view the other to be of noble lineage.

 

I'd rather be hated and viewed as an equal, than be hated and despised on top of that.

Somali form of Tribalism is the worst, it knows no end and contitues drilling drown till two brothers is 'qabyaldeyaan'.

Racism is more severe, cause e.g: it can be based on appearance, race or skin color. As for tribalism that's something you can choose not to disclose. People can't guess your tribe by how you look, but if your black/white it's there for all to see thus your more likely to suffer from discrimination.

Our problem is clannism not tribal hatred rudy. clannism is far worse and more asinine than racism imo because if not for clannism, we wouldn't have had a civil war, which have spared our pple need to go qurbo iyo gaalo-land face racism, humiliation and all other ills of the last 2 decades.

we somalis suffer from both. we use tribalism to divide and hate ourselves, and we also use racism to hate anyone that don't look like us.

You raise a good point there, walaal but not all Somali clans are considered equal.
