Somalia: Balkanization and Brutalization of Somalia

Moonlight,

Somaliland's case nor its motivation for 'secession' is based on the Somalia state structure nor 'power sharing'. I doubt if an eventual Union with Somalia would be based on 'federalist' princibles.

What else would it be based on then if they drop the secession?. the only other option is con-federalism which gives even more powers than federalism, and even independency referendum.

Federalism seems to be the midway logic, its neither centeralized nor con-federalism, its the perfect solution.

Sxb, nobody can talk for them besides they themselves. What you are doing is, using others as a legitimacy for something you want yourself.

That is ok, but just say you want it.

adeer cadeey waxaad rabto, hadal iyo ilkaba waa la cadeeyaa.

Sxb, my stance was always clear. I oppose secession and I oppose clan States or Federalism as you call it. Neither of them will bring any real tangible results in terms of stability, development, good governance.

War ha isku daalin ninkaan ABCna kuu uu sheegi maayo wuxuu isla hayaa ma leh. baal waydii adigu hadii uu rabo in Centralised goverment what does he want for "Waqooyi Galbeed", are they part of his Centralised goverment? Wuu cararayaa markaad su,aal ka waydiiso reerkiisa. basically, his whole urgument for centralised goverment is based on to make away for Waqooyi Glabeed seccession, becouse if federalism is on the table they have no urgument to convince the International community to recognise them, hence why the majority of them hate Puntland.

Samafal moonlight Somaliland is not interested in federalism confederacy centralism what ever you want to call it and don't mind Carafaat he is just taking for the sake of talking. They made it clear in 1991 nothing less than a full fledged Somaliland republic.

Federalism is something the folks in garowe love and so far there is only one federal state in Somalia Puntland the rest of the country is not interested in federalism bal weynu eegi halkay ka degto:D

Sxb, belief it or not. Nobody hates anyone.

But I support a centralized strong goverment for Somalia inclusing Hargeysa, Berbera, burco, Bosasso. etc. Some people have ideals and they want to see they ideals being realized by the strongest institution possible. Irrelevent who's clan has a bigger percentage of power, somethign you seem to be concerned with a lot. :D

^Rest assured Waqooyi Galbeed is and will be part and parcel of Somalia, but there's something called delusion and that can go on how long you want.

It is plain that the majority of us southerners are against this federalism thing, but the question stands, why are we reer koonfuur being held hostage by puntland?

I don't know which Southerners you are speaking of but to say the South does not want federalism is not true. Do you know Bay, Bakool and Shabellaha Hoose had a state and still want to bring back that state. Also Jubada Hoose, Jubada dhexe and Gedo want to have their own state. Galmudug, Ximan iyo Xeeb are already semi-states looking for ways to unite. Marka which Southerners are against it? Ulusoow is only representative of himslef and nothing more.

Teeda kale there's a clause in the Constituition that say any region which does not want to be federal state can choose to be part of the federal goverment along the capital. So say dadka aad sheegaysid don't want federal its not imperative on them to be part of any federal state.
