He could have simply said, we hear you and we are going to change those articles the Somali people disagree about. And then make some minor changes. Sharif is getting good advice and seem to be following it to the letter. As the leader of this sorry lot, he can't possibly be against the constitution but, as Somali president, he also can't appear to be fully in bed with outsiders making threats to his people. Balan qaadko waa bilaash ninyaho. Every politician does it and hardly any fulfil their promises.

Somalia Posted May 1, 2012 Yeah, the warlords that pillaged the country for 21 years and Al-Shabaab really represent the interests of the Somali people. Even AMISOM is more Somali since they seem to want to establish peace. It's laughable if it wasn't scary that people have the dumb mentality of "the world wants to rule us". Not all people who are against this draft constitution are warlords and one can argue that some warlords today support this draft. Its more complex then you make it out to be. Most people want to establish peace but differ on the conditions, and there should be compromise instead of labing people anti-peace or spoilers. This can be adressed quite easily imo, but unfortunately some people deciding to handle this the "somali way"

If you are against something you point out why, we are dealing with people who say we are against the constitution regardless. Ok, tell me, why are you against it? You did congratulate this weak kneed man after all..

Life is more complicated than that and it's not black and white!

Carafaat Posted May 1, 2012 We support the Somali President and denounce Federalism and this constitution. Xiin doesn't belief in Federalism, but still supports his ùncle and this flawd constitution.

I dont support this draft because it will strenghten the divisions in the country and will lead to ministates with their own constitution without any national sense. I frankly dont believe this is step forward for somalia. Every qabil with their own flag-mentality has gone to far, it will lead to somalia going different paths and will not revive her. We should not even cover their immigration policy........

We should not even cover their immigration policy........ I praised this man before he went to meet Somalidiid who said that the man in Dire Dawa is closer to him than the one from Mogadishu, he embarrassed himself to an extend no president has ever done. If you knew anything you'd understand that this doesn't lead to "mini states", it leaves federal states with 2 or more gobolo out of the 18 original becoming states. Every state has a flag, it's the same around the world. And now you are using the immigration policy as a reason to be against it? Why not just say it should be amended like a sensible logical person? I am truly saddened that this is what we are dealing with in the year 2012.
