Somaliland: Immigration offices equipped properly

HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – All immigration offices in the country are equipped with modern operation tools and trained staff.

A new Principal immigration officer has assumed office after a hand-over ceremony at the immigration department's headquarters in Hargeisa.

Mohamed Ali Yusuf who was appointed PIO last week took over from his predecessor Mohamed Osman Alin "Dayib" during a ceremony officiated by the deputy interior minister in-charge of security Hon Osman Abokor.

The out-going PIO told his replacement that all regional offices in the country are now equipped with modern communication tools and staffed with highly trained personnel, thus up to standards immigration services provision capabilities country wide.

The new PIO not only promised to sustain levels of prevalent competence but said he will strive to make them even better thus an immigration department worthy the country's pride.

Hon Osman Abokor thanked Dayib for his contributions to the immigration during a service spanning several years. He said that the country is indebted to him for the perfect status of the immigration department.

Mr. Mohamed Ali Yusuf was appointed last week by the minister of interior who did not divulge reasons behind the replacement of Dayib
