Carafaat Posted March 28, 2012 Just heard through my contacts from the inner circle of Hargeysa politics that Somaliland will send security forces to Somalia. Somaliland trained and prebared 3000 of the best and most experiences high officers from the Special Police Unit. Puntland, Galmudug, Xiin and Xeeb, ASWJ will also contribute Police officers to be lead by the Somaliland officers. Somaliland will lead the Police forces to be deployed throughout cities freed from Al Shabaab in Somalia. Their main task is to restore law and order. set-up local police offices, train local police forces. Will post more updates on this.

Caano_Geel Posted March 28, 2012 I am sure...Somaliland could send more than 20,000 security forces to Somalia, only if Somalia recognize Somaliland as an independent brother country.

Xaaji Xunjuf Posted March 28, 2012 Stuff and nonsense not a single Somaliland police or army personal will be deployed to Somalia , Somalia has enough problems from neighboring countries Ethiopia Kenya Djibouti Ugandan burundi and Eritrea assisting shabaab. GaadhHaye Posted March 28, 2012 UNDP financed the training of the force. Thus it is not farfetched if some officials are instructed to relocate to southern parts of the Somali Federal Republic.
Mario B Posted March 28, 2012 "Somaliland police" is a clan entity, it should stay in the "triangle towns", imagine if one of the peace keepers was killed in Xamar, we won't hear the end of it.
