Xaaji Xunjuf Posted March 21, 2012 Somaliland: Hezbollah Demands Islamic Based Governance Wednesday, 21 March 2012 18:20 HARGEISA - The government has been asked to institute sharia law for the country’s administration. This appeal was made by the unregistered Hezbollah party in a press release signed by Sheikh Ali Omar Mohamed the group’s spokesperson. In a justification of their demand the group argued that the country’s population is 100% Muslim thus the imperative need for instituting governance based on Islamic tenets. Hezbollah further argued that Islamic tenets do not allow political completion thus the illegality of ongoing political party campaigns for final registration The group further claimed that unless Somaliland immediately reverts to Islamic based governance prevalent problems engulfing the country cannot be solved by regular ministerial firing and appointments Hezbollah also decried enshrined public corruption which it claimed can only be eliminated not by selective arrest of a few officials that have lost favor with the administration but by Sharia law which provides for religious approved public officials conduct.
