Alpha Blondy Posted March 15, 2012 Archie, your friend is a saqaajamad and a serial voyeur. why is she taking picture of people without asking for consent marka hore. secondly, these pictures make a mockery of the nomadic culture and its akin to ethnic tourism as practiced in places like kenya and tanzania. i bet you friend would think it suitable for that poor man to drop his stick and to make some 'ethnic dances' for her amusement. its astonishing how deprave people are with their meandering thoughts and ideas of what actually constitutes 'home', 'belonging and 'ethnic spaces'. archie, your thoughts and captions of the picture are interesting, not least because in order to feel some type of an 'affinty' you are 'othering' him yet you're using ethno-centric constructions informed by the white superstructure that uses dehumanising discourses. mate, see him as human worthy of respect and dignity and not some type of caricature that deserves to be labled with simple adjectives and made a mockery off. for goodness sake he is not happy there. he has to get up at 4am everyday and work those camels all day for a meager and fruitless life. why the romanticism saxib. this is creating a distortion of reality and to those relativist and post-modernist among 'us' lets get real - nomadic life is harsh and people should be encouraged to settle in urban areas. Carafaat Posted March 15, 2012 I remember this a story. during a field trip with donors we stopped the cars when we say a Nomad with more then 100 Camels, this lady walked to men and tried to take a picture of him and he almost hit her with his stick. she screamed, we jumped in between and tried to calm him, he was quite hot tempered. guess from which area he was Alpha.
