Dr_Osman Posted March 10, 2012 Its quite happy to see how fast Puntland is developing over the years and when I say this, I mean the following; First of all their confirmed residential/commercial/tourist boom happening in Puntland across the ballpark and not just 1 city Qardho Carmo El-Dahir Garowe Bosaso Waciye Their is probably tons of other unconfirmed boom towns occuring however the above is confirmed. Their is the biggest most modern parliament and presidential palace being constructed in garowe as we speak, I mean this will make other somali parliaments look so ineffective and tinshed like. Their is multi national investments flowing into the region. For example the amount of foreign workers is just totally mind blowing from all over the world, working at our international port, construction projects, and not to mention other somalis and africans who are there by the thousands. There is huge boom happening also in the education front with schools constructing and reforms taking place to make all puntland education institution of high quality. High school reforms have proven very successful and now is being applied also to primary schools to have one centralised high quality curriculum. Health sector is booming also, a major hospital in galkayo is in the works, plus a major national medical college in garowe and mental health facilities and women centers are in the pipleline for the capital. Existing health sector facilities are being modernized and health initiatives like immunisation and free surgeries have proven to be successful hit with the locals. Water Sector is happening very strongly and more suburbs are being piped in galkayo and regional towns have been given a boost of $25 million for their water projects by the EU. Electricity sector is going ok and Bosaso has second major public gridline utility underway known as sepco and garowe public utility is going towards using windfarms as electricity generator. Sporting sector is going at a steady rate and the first major multiplex sporting facility is phase 3 final construction mode and will host w0ith facilities such as a international grassed and fully lighted stadium that will have changing rooms for home and visiting teams and a grand-stand. It will also have a track field, handball courts, basketball courts, offices for administration, and orphanage facility. Existing sporting grounds are being upgraded also across the state. Infrastructure sector is going at a steady rate. The galkayo airport is to recieve a brand-spanking new terminal facility which is nearly completed and the runway is being upgraded. Garowe airport is starting from the scratch and the airport is operational however not completed. A modernised terminal is under construction once completed the runway will be paved. Bosaso airport only has the runway left. Everything else has been completed. The terminal, parking facilities, the fountains and foyer areas and even hotels are being built near it as express style hotels. The port facility in Bosaso is in its second phase to expand its capacity to be a deep-sea port. Road sector is booming across the state. Existing roads are being upgraded one of which is the famous garowe-galkayo stretch is being upgraded completely from one end to the other. Feeder roads are happening through nearly every city of the state and even remote regions. Bosaso city road network is underway which is a major project to pave 10km of the city in the major road congested areas. JPLG has given 12 million to the road sector in off-the-road project Business sector is going well and the local business community is more then ever united under in the puntland commerce chambers to strategise where investments should be directed to make the state productive in all sectors. The manufacturing age has been officially declared and plans are under-way to make it a reality.So dont be suprised when you car manufacturing in puntland has opened and so forth, you have been warned. Multi-nationals are being to flood the region and invest. As for investments golis, tawakal, iftin are all building major headquarters in bosaso and garowe. Resource Sector is going well which is a new sector in Puntland. Drilling is under-way in dharoor and oil find has been confirmed and infact is alot more then the expected 17 billion barrels. Major talks are occuring with the big oil companies like shell and bp who are said to have an interest in the offshore oil of puntland which is said to be in the 100 billion barrell range which I already knew and always mentioned it whenever oil was talked about. Politics is going well and multiparty, amended democratic constitution is to be ratified april, somalia is all under the garowe principle and will join us on our tough journey back to papa rashid and papa razaq. We have successfully brought all the major stakeholders in somalia under the puntland control and we will only talk and play in the spirit of garowe which really means if u say anything that is unpuntland like you will be in breach of the garowe principles and will be militarily or politically or even economically sanctioned. Military is the most modern in somalia today with active and operational sectors such as the puntland defence forces with special commando units, the marines, the police and its high standards of puntlandism being instilled at carmo police academy, the PIS who are our intelligentsia forum. Then their is the custodian corp who are our symbolic forces for national and regional events. Ignoring all this and being anti puntland or mucarad is just absolutely insane and noone will take you serious within the nation or outside of it. You must acknowledge puntland horumar bay gaartay and then daliil waxad rabtid regarding your own specific problems with the state. Dr_Osman Posted March 10, 2012 $25 million from EU and JPLG 12 million. which turns out to be $37 million for Puntland in 2012, which is not enough and we need at least hundreds of million before its really felt at the street level but hell with the development organisations puntland wont need you when our oil kicks start. God there is so much happening in the state wallahi I can keep track I didnt even mention the agriculture, fishery and other sectors because I got tired typing. That tells you something doesnt it?
