Presdident Shariif should stay.

Many have judged our President Sheick Shariif quite negative in the past. As a former teacher Sheick Shariif was quite new in the game called Somali and World politics, but he showed he is a quick learner. Things started changing the last year, never have Somali's been so carefull, hopefull and realistic at the same time, as today. Never before had we the same momentum as we have today.I have witnessed Somali reconciliation for over a decade. Not because its safer, better or more pleasent in our country. But because we are wiser, more experienced and more realistic then we used to be. I knew noth much would come out of Artah, Embaghaati or Jabuuti. Not because there were lack of good leaders, but mainly because we were not ready to pay the price of peace and the costprice of governance. Today hardly you hear those voices that used to say, Muqdishu unuku aa iska leh, Madaxweyne ama Postka anaga iska leh, Somalia shaqo kuma lihi ama la hadli maayo, intaas oo kursi ayaa naga maqan, Amxaaro aa dhulkii la keenay dowlada ha la rido, xamar ha la qarxiyo.

 

As a teenager I started following the Artah process, as a student i was following Embaghaati.And today I follow the development as an adult. And I am a witnessing Somalia and Somali's finally showing adult behaviour as well. We are more cautious, constructive, less selfish, we admit mistakes, we are more carefull what we say, we know some outsiders have interest but we know we have to live with that fact and guard the small achievements, strive for bigger steps slowly one at the time.

 

Somalia is growing up. And this process is not sexy but becomong an adult never is. You slowly become more wiser and your idea's become less radical and you even become nuanced and less outspoken, less emotional, less angry, less love. But much more wiser and realistic.

 

So what has this to do Sheick Shariif. Sheick Shariif is a young men(compared to old politicians), he is around 40. Sheick Shariif is Somalia, just like Somalia he is learning by doing, we witnessed his young and idealistic days wearing cimaamad and idealistic thinking you can change the people and country by a seef, we witnessed his USC days, thinking clans can buld and today we are witnessing how he became an adult in the game called politics. He has become more cautious, realistic, less ignorant towards his father in law and folks like Dableey, today he is taking the small and constructive Somalia needs(Moqdisho, relarions with SL, PL, etc). Then promising us wonders, revolutions and salvation tomorrow. Both Sheick and Somalia have experienced a learning curve. Therefor I say, he should stay and conitnue doing, learning and experiencing.

The man has become a real Politician. He recongnized Khatumo. At the same time he is complimenting Somaliland, while he named a committee(gudi) to prebare the talks with Somaliland.
