, the first part was the speech of world leaders the second half of the shir was held in private with Somali leaders(not the breakfast session) just right after lunch break, Siilaanyo was not in this privately held conference attended by Turkish, Djibouti, Ugandan, Kenyan, Ethiopian, AU, UN, and EU representatives, the third part of the conference as of now was concluded by Mr Abdiwali with Cameron and Ban Ki Moon with Press Conference.

Mr Cameroon made a quick decision right after the start of the conference and made only selected leaders to speak for their respective nations!

Good decision by prime minister Cameron.

People often say that Somalia's problems cannot be solved by outsiders i think Somalilanders and their experience in making peace between clans regions can play a role not saying they can change Somalia. But perhaps they can bring back some trust between the communities in Somalia Since Somaliland and Somalia were once a united country. Our good friend from Djibouti IOG always supports one side against the other when it comes to sharing power in Somalia between the various communities. Somaliland was the balancing factor even when it was part of Somalia. They can play that balancing role as Somaliland now and days but this can come when there dialogue between the Somaliland leaders and the leaders of Somalia and when there is mutual understanding we shall see inshallah naftada kheyr ba lo sheega.

Agree. Somaliland should assist And support Somalia. This is not the time for talk about recongnition, first there has to be a goverment for Somalia. And Somaliland will support till then.

NG, did Siilanyo speak in the conference? Or hs president, Sh. Sharif, spoke on behalf of all Somalis?

If that it's the later one, as Xiin said, there is no any further explaination needed. Everything is clearer than a day light. Somalia is one and has only one President and one PM.

Somaliland will only support Somalia if there is a mutually recognised and signed agreement: between both parties that is mutually binding that after an interm period a full referendum for somaliland independence take place within Somaliland, as was the case, in south sudan, kosovo and east timor. Without this..im afraid i just dont trust Somalia.

This conference has shown to the world and confirmed that Somalia is indeed one country.

If there was one united Somalia there wouldn't be a need for a dialogue between Somaliland and TFG(Somalia government). :D

6.The Conference recognised the need for the international community to support any dialogue that Somaliland and the TFG or its replacement may agree to establish in order to clarify their future relations.

Nuxurka Khudbaddii Madaxweynaha Somaliland ka jeediyay Shirkii London

February 23rd, 2012 Comments Off

Hargeysa (Somaliland.Org)- Wasaaradda Arrimaha dibadda Somaliland ayaa qoraal ay soo saartay kaga hadashay qodobadii uu gelinkii dambe ee maanta ka jeediyay madaxweynaha Somaliland Md. Axmed Maxamed Maxamuud (Siilaanyo) shirweynihii London caawa fiidkii lagu soo gabo-gabeeyay.

Sidaasi waxa lagu sheegay qoraal ka soo baxay wasaaradda khaarajiga oo ku qornaa af Ingriiisi oo u dhignaan sidan:-

“Somaliland benefited from attending the London Conference in the following ways:

• President Silanyo was treated no differently from the head of a state of a recognized country. He held bilateral meetings with the Foreign Secretary, William Hague, and the Development Minister, Andrew Mitchell on the eve of the Conference, 22 February 2012.

• At the conference, which was chaired by Prime Minister David Cameron, he also sat shoulder to shoulder with leaders from other countries in the conference. Several delegates made positive references to Somaliland in their speeches to the conference.

• President Silanyo had the opportunity to place on record before world leaders the desire of the Somaliland people to be recognized as an independent state. He called for “an international discussion about the future of Somaliland, launching a process leading to recognition of our state”, adding that “we are convinced that an internationally recognized Somaliland will be even better placed to contribute to a stable and peaceful Somalia.”

• The Somaliland President and Foreign Minister Omar had the opportunity to have bilateral meetings in the margins with the Foreign Ministers of Turkey, Denmark, Netherlands and Switzerland. Dr Omar also met US Assistant Secretary of State for Africa, Johnnie Carson.

• At a ceremony on 22 February, President Silanyo launched the Somaliland Development Corporation which will help attract foreign direct investment to Somaliland.

• Also on 22 February, and despite pouring rain in central London, the Somaliland Diaspora turned out in force for a rally in support of international recognition for Somaliland. In the presence of President Silanyo, the organizers handed in a letter to No 10 Downing St about international recognition for Somaliland.
