The agenda for the conference was always about fighting piracy, terror and the road map etc etc. Having said that the UK Foriegn Minister meets the President of SL and calls him a president in his post meeting comments.

 

Not sure what difference this 'news' makes but Somaliland is attending a meeting where Somalia will be told it must do a, b and c and put into UN/IGAD trusteeship again losing the little soverignty that remains. Who is the independent one here?

But in any case, The sooner SL realizes that it is in their interest for a unified Somalia, the better. I dont understand the need and or the urge to be independent. You can be sovereign with a unified federal country after all,No?. Of course, Hargeisa can be the capital city and the president be from SL/. It is time, SL sacrficed for every somali and make this happen. Lets be 1.

Not narrow Faarax but real. People on here seem to be more concerned with Somaliland not receiving recognition as if its the be all and end all of everything when Somalia itself isn't independent. Somalia is being run by it's neighbours. It's affairs are in the hands of the UN and IGAD but its all ok as long as Somaliland isn't recognised. I was just making that point.

Norf, adeer 50 countries are attending this meeting for Somalia. The Road map states that a new Somalia National Governemnt will end the transition. Thus not sure what you mean by others running us?
