Medley of extemporanea Posted January 13, 2006 S/C, Is what has happened to the Somali people (famine, civil strife, and exile) the punishment of Allah? What should Somali people change to gain the favor of Allah and mercy?
Jafarel. Posted January 14, 2006 Verily Allah will not change the condition of a people as long as they do not their state themselves..(Ar-Ra'd ,11). Until Qabiil is replaced with brotherly love for the sake of Allah and we take heed from the story of the early tribes of Medina, Somalia will, in my opinion, be as it is...(slighly secure perhaps).... Modesty Posted January 15, 2006 Somalia faces many of the problems many of the muslim ummah is facing. Muslims are oppressed by their leaders and superpower western countries, dropping bombs on innocent villagers. Insha'Allah I hope muslims unite and justice and Islam covers the earth.Ameen. Oz Posted January 15, 2006 ^^^Ameen Sista.. There was a time the prophet (saw) and his companions struggled, faced hardship ...we just have to go throw it. Allah tells us that we will be tested. He also makes it clear to us what is expected from us when we undergo these trials and what our reward will be if we are successful. Allah(sw) says: “Be sure we shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods, lives and the fruits (of your toil) but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere. Those who, when misfortune strikes them, say: ‘Indeed we belong to Allah and to Him is our return. Those are the ones upon whom are blessings and mercy from their Lord and it is those who are rightly guided.†[suratul al-Baqarah: 155] Every one of us is being tested by Allah. He tests us all in different ways. We should not assume that the difficulties that we face in life are punishments or are signs that Allah is displeased with us. We are tested with health as well as sickness. A man with good eyesight is tested with regards to his use of it. Will he use the blessing of his sight to good purpose or to gaze at unlawful things? His good eyesight may be what takes him to Hell. A blind man is tested whether he will bear patiently with his disability. His patience in affliction may be what earns him his place in Paradise. Our goal is the Hereafter and we are all being tested. Let us move on, then, to good and righteous deeds, to the company of righteous people, to avoiding deviation after having been guided aright. May Allaah be with you all . w/s
S.O.S Posted January 18, 2006 The punishment of Allah? Assalaamu calaykum, I don't think so if we apply the logic of causation in its totality, because Allah's punishments always have reasons, be it through our own actions...wherein we can deduct the relative spectrum of different meanings to different individuals (e.g. tests, punishments, etc.)... The workings of the SUNAN of Allah’s JUSTICE are not my expertise, but no one here will hopefully object to the fact that a sick society must eventually produce some really sick outcomes and vice versa. Therefore, in stead of blaming the few hellish warlords, shouldn't we now start blaming the society that created, promoted and continues sustain of which they're a product of? If we do so, thus, the conclusion must be that: It's not per se a sovereign punishment, even though it is relatively independent to some, it is ultimately the symptoms of our sicknesses!!! ...recognition will give birth to hope for a better future, just as correct diagnosis gives a better chance to find the best cure... May Allah guide us all!
