Shirka London presents Somaliland a face saving opportunity to step away from this independence nonsense and extract real political concessions from the rest of Somalia's stakeholders. With the newly found world attention internationally, and the Khatumo game-changer at home, Somaliland needs to accept realities as they are, not as they wish them to be.

What I don't understand is how SL can be prepared to negotiate when a) SL is not on the London agenda b) SL doesn't really have an incentive to enter dialogue let alone rejoin a union with Somalia and c) the TFG isn't even in a strong position right now to negotiate with SL.

Northwestern & Togdheer regions are on the agenda of the London Conference for Somalia. The agenda is saving Somalia and inviting every stakeholder of this country.

As one British official said, "SL" will get more respect from the rest of the world if it particpates in the peace process and works with the rest of Somali regions. Partition is never feasible nor will self-imposed isolation lead to international recognition.

Guys, be sensible and get the bigger picture.
