President Silanyo In Addis Ababa To Talk With Somaliland Opponents

Hargeisa(Qarannews):- The Somaliland President Ahmed Mohamed Mohamud " Siilaanyo" and a delegation consisting of his most trusted cabinet officers are in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to meet with opponents of Somaliland's sovereignty and the organisers of the recent Taleh meeting which promulgated the "khaatumo state".

Prior to his departure from Hargeisa, President Siilaanyo remarked to the gathered media that one of the main reason for his visit to Ethiopia was to meet with his good friend Ali Khalif Galaydh who had organised the recent Taleh meeting which was hijacked by a group calling for the creation of the "khaatumo state" and which subsequently led to the recent battles around Buholde in which both the Somaliland Defence Forces and the militia allied to Ali Khalif, supported by elements of the tfg, onlf, al-shabab and other sundry outlaws suffered significant casualties.

President Siilaanyo and Ali Khalif are close friends from their youth in Togdher, as well as, during their service in the government of the late Somali dictator, Siyad Barre. At the meeting in Addis Ababa last year, it was agreed between the pair that a meeting should be held in Taleh where the *********** community of Somaliland will discuss issues relating to the community and its place within the Somaliland society. However, the meeting was hijacked by a more incendiary group which called for the creation of "khaatumo state", which led to the recent clashes in and around Buhodle.

According to our sources, Ali Khalif who had recently been in the custody of the Ethiopian security services has managed to obtain his freedom and earn himself a seat at the London conference to be held on the 23rd of this month. Ali Khalif Galaydh, a Somalilander with great political skills had managed to raise the profile of his followers the G9 group at the expense of President Siilaanyo and Somaliland's prestige.

Nevertheless, President Ahmed Mohamed Mohamud "Siilaanyo" has often repeated the mantra that he is ready to meet with anyone, anytime, anywhere, if the issues under discussion pertain to Somaliland. Therefore, it would not be a surprise if President Siilaanyo meets with some elements from "awdal state" currently in Addis Ababa campaigning for a seat at the London conference. Unfortunately for this group, they do not have a Ali Khalif among them.

In other news, former Somali Defence Minister and the highest ranking officer in the defunct Somali National Army, Mohamed Ali Samatar will face a trail in the United States of America beginning on the 21st of February. Ali Samatar is accused of torture, immigration violations and other charges. This trail is not a criminal trail, but a civil one instigated by victims of torture under the defunct Somali National Army as a direct result of orders from its commander, the erstwhile Mohamed Ali Samatar.

My dad said most of siilanyo friends back in the hey-day of Somalia were all garowe-galkayo-bosaso-qardho. He told me his real good friend is mustafe haji aaden thats why he lives in hargeisa. My father also told me he was friends with siilanyo when he was commerce minister he helped hm out of jail when even his own ina adeer abdirazaq haji hussein insulted him badly I wont say what. But their beef was settled he said when they both met at the hajj recently back in 2004 and my dad brought those old wounds up. It was when he was young and just came from garowe to mogadishu and abdirazaq haji hussein and my awoowe were not on the good books cause they both had huge political differences especially regarding who will be the mp of garowe and that unfortunately rubbed off on my dad when abdirazaq haji hussein wouldnt even give him money to buy books.

He said silanyo not only got him out of jail, he gave him alot money and helped my dad complete his studies
