Dr_Osman Posted February 4, 2012 Duufaan stop measuring Puntland against other regions of Somalia in regards to oil. Fact 1: $100 million has been spent on Puntland oil exploration, that is cold hard cash by foreign oil companies who do not like to waste their money on any other region in Somalia because to be quite frank their is no oil anywhere else. 2. Oil Storage tanks are established in Bossaso for immediate export once the oil is recovered.3. Tenders from foreign investment companies from many nations are begging farole for contracts to build the state. Comparing Puntland oil to other regions of Somalia is ridiculous because we are at the stage of production and other regions have no foreign investments to even put them on the map. Noone will touch the south due to stability reasons, Noone will touch Somaliland due to legality issues. That is why Puntland is benefiting from this sort of arrangement. Nugaal Valley, the heart of khaatumo state and Ogaa deen region are predicted to be major ones for oil and gas. The time for conoco is over their lease life time for the licenses are over and range has taken it.
