PasserBy Posted February 3, 2012 Addis Ababa, February 3, 2012 (Addis Ababa) - Ethiopia, Djibouti and South Sudan here on Thursday signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that would help them enhance cooperation and partnership in infrastructure development. According to the MoU, the main areas of cooperation will be in the development of energy and fiber optics. The three countries will sign other agreements on specific projects to be implemented in the future. Ethiopian Finance and Economic Development Minister, Sufian Ahmed, Djiboutian Finance Minister, Ilyas Moosa Robleh and South Sudan Petroleum and Mining Minister, Stephen Dhieu Dau signed the MoU. Similarly, Ethiopia and South Sudan signed here on Thursday a Memorandum of Understanding providing for technical and economic cooperation between the two countries. Finance and Economic Development Minister, Sufian Ahmed and South Sudan Finance Minister, Kosti Manibe signed the MoU. Sufian said on the occasion that the MoU will enable the two countries to cooperate in the construction of roads and railways as well as installation of electricity and telecommunication lines.
